| Ready Fresh Produce
Limited uses state of the art packaging for all
of its precut fruits and vegetables. It is a popular
misconception that all product must have a tight
vacuum seal to retain freshness. Ready Fresh uses
a whole new family of packaging materials. Scientists
from our packaging supplier, Cryovac, have created
the optimum environment for produce: films and bags
that "breathe". These bags are designed with controlled
permeability rates, matched to the respiration rate
of the product being packaged. |
 |
They control the oxygen intake and allow
carbon dioxide to escape. We also use modified atmosphere
packaging (M.A.P.) where we introduce inert gas to extend
the shelf life of the product being packaged. The gas,
in conjunction with the most suitable packaging can
give products up to two weeks shelf life with proper
refrigeration. Barrier bags are used for items such
as onions which give off strong odours. The bags are
rubber lined and have a very low breathable factor.
We are always looking for new ideas to get the best
shelf life out of our high quality precut produce items.
